Welcome to the Fibromyalgia 101 course. This is where you will find out what fibromyalgia is, how it’s diagnosed and how we treat it.
Click on each section and it will show you the content for that module.

This course might be freely available, but it won’t help if you don’t try the things. The worksheets provided alone are usually sold for $10 each. And I couldn’t even begin to estimate how much time it took me to research, try the things, write the content, create the videos and put this all together. So take notes and get ideas!
Remember that I am sharing my research and my experience. This information is shared so that you have a starting point for your own research. Please discuss all treatment options with your medical team and look them up yourself.

What is Fibromyalgia? What Are the Symptoms?
What is fibromyalgia? How is it defined and what are the symptoms?
If the video doesn’t show up, find it here.
Key point to note: Although painful menstruation is in the list of “symptoms” often experienced with fibromyalgia, it is worth exploring. Because there is a difference between painful menstruation and period issues so bad you can’t function (another diagnosis altogether). Every symptom should be explored in its own right and not just chalked up to fibromyalgia.

Who am I? Why did I make this course?
I’m Melissa and I’ve had chronic pain, chronic fatigue and insomnia since my late teens. I’ve been sharing my journey on this blog since 2013 because I want you to have the knowledge sooner than I got it. I’m a yoga and meditation teacher, author of three books including Fibromyalgia Won’t Win and a mama of four. Through my own research and trial and error, I’ve gone from moderate to mild on the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire Rating Scale (FIQR) by using everything I share on this blog. You can read more about my journey here.
I hope you found this course helpful. Please do share it with anyone you think could benefit from it.
Most importantly, please use it!
